Your questions about the new app

19.06.2025

Following the update of our app in April, some of you still have a few questions about how to use it. We answer the most frequently asked questions about our app and our service.

1. Why are no more zones displayed?

In our app, the return zones are displayed as soon as you select a bike. However, we are already working on the map to make it more intuitive.

2. How can I display different bike models?

Unfortunately, this is not currently possible. However, we are already working on a solution so that you can filter by different bike types again soon.

3. The lock does not open. What can I do?

In the rental profile you have the option “Open lock” at the bottom right. Sometimes just a spoke is stuck, move the wheel slightly and open the lock again via the app.

4. Customer Support is not available. And now?

Sometimes there may be longer processing times due to high demand. We're sorry about that! But don't worry, if you have sent us a message via the app, it will be noted in the system and we will see that you have contacted us in good time. We will definitely find a solution with you.

5. The rental simply continues in the app.

Make sure that the lock is locked correctly and that the bike has beeped. If the rental is still running in the app, close the app once and restart it. This is often a synchronization error.

6. Where can I see my free minutes?

Your free minutes are displayed under the “Wallet” menu item. There you also have the option of adding vouchers, booking and managing a subscription or activating a partner benefit.

7.  What are the different brands for?

We often cooperate with local authorities, public transport providers and other local players. In order to meet the different requirements, nextbike has different branding in the different cities. However, you can easily use your nextbike account across cities. Just note that our discounts are usually only valid within one brand.
