Our tariffsHow it works
Our bikes can be rented and returned across cities in the participating municipalities of the Karlsruhe Transport Authority (KVV).
In some locations, we also offer e-bikes, cargobikes, and e-cargobikes. Use the filter function in the app and be sure to check the different return policies for each bike type and municipality.
REGISTRATION
Registration is free of charge. In order to verify your account, a €1 deposit is required and will become rental credit to use later on.
RENTAL
Simply scan the QR Code on the bike with the nextbike app and the FrameLock will open automatically.
PAUSE RIDE
Pause your ride without ending the rental. Simply pause your ride in the app and close the lock. The rental stays active during the pause and will be charged as usual.
RETURN
Return your bike to an official station or within the flex zone in Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden, Ettlingen, Rastatt, Gaggenau or Rheinstetten and close the frame lock. A service fee of €20 applies to returns outside these areas.

PAUSE RIDE
Want to pause your ride without ending the rental? Just pause your ride in the app and lock the bike. The rental will continue at the standard e-bike rate while it’s paused.
RETURN
Return the e-bike at one of the official e-bike stations in Baden-Baden, Rastatt or Ettlingen. Slide the bike into an empty rack until it clicks into place and lock the frame lock. If you return the bike outside of these stations, we will charge a service fee of €20.

You can easily rent a cargo bike via the app at one of the official cargo bike stations in Ettlingen. Scan the QR code and the frame lock will open automatically. Please only start the rental once you are standing directly in front of the bike, as the rental period starts immediately.

Pause your ride without ending the rental. Simply pause your ride in the app and close the lock. The rental stays active during the pause and will be charged as usual.
RETURN
Always return your cargobike to an official cargo bike station in Ettlingen and close the lock. If you return it to any other location, a service fee of at least €20 will be charged.

Our tariffs
You can rent up to four bikes with one customer account. However, subscriptions apply to the first bike only. The monthly subscription is valid throughout Germany (except for Oldenburg, Bremen, Usedom and Nuremberg). You can change the tariff in your account settings.
Basic tariff
1 € /30 min
If you have not booked another tariff, you will be charged at the basic rate. The maximum daily charge is 9 €/24 h.
Monthly subscription
10 € /Monat
The first 30 minutes of each rental are included. After that, the basic rate applies. (max. 9 €/24 h)
E-bikes and cargo bikes are excluded.
Annual subscription
48 € /year
The first 30 minutes of each rental are included. After that, the basic rate applies. (max. 9 € /24 h)
